Electric first fix complete - and a last minute redesign!

On schedule the electrical first fix is now complete. We chose to work with a local electrician who was recommended - his team spent just over a week getting all the wiring in which now lets us move forward with the plasterboard and plumbing. His team have been there everyday and great to work with - an in-flight redesign didn't phase them at all.

For the plumbing, I had looked to get someone in for the purposes of speed, however one plumber, despite ongoing dialogue, never quoted, and the other must have been quoting with gold plated pipework - so we'll be doing the plumbing ourselves. Fortunately it will be fairly straight forward as there is no wet central heating system and we've designed a straightforward, easy to plumb system.

The day before the electrician got stuck in, I had a bit of a moment, and when we got in on the Snnday night, I asked Craig not to kill me, but that I thought we should change the whole layout of the kitchen/dining space. Anyway, after an hour or so, he relented and we started the redesign.

To cut a long story short - phone calls to planning, building control, a late night visit to a kitchen supplier and we had our new design - which is in the process of being completed just now but is far superior to the original.
