With winter well and truly here, and about 85% of the exterior complete, we have now moved inside which means we can work unaffected by the weather.
Over the winter, our aim is to get the first fix joinery, electrics and plumbing completed, ready to move to the second fix early in Spring.
This is an expensive time so we are constrainted financially - hot-water tanks, electrics, plumbing, radiators, heat recovery systems are fairly big ticket items and all need bought in quick succession.
To start off, we're making the house more like..well, a house! We got 260 lengths of timber delivered and once carried up the hill, we made a start on the internal partition walls. Once we get into the swing if it, we make a crack team and are rattling through - if things got to plan, we'll have all the internal walls done before Christmas, which will allow us to try work through a lot of smaller items on the 'to do' list as well as ensure the house is ready for the first fix electrics.
