Cladding complete

Finally, we have completed fitting the exterior cladding to the upper half of the exterior walls.

Fitting it is a fairly therapeutic activity - the preparation and getting the first trim level is the most tricky part, but worth taking time over to avoid any issues later. We bought our own rotary laser and it was invaluable setting the levels right round the house.

The last elevation right at the back was the largest and we complete this in a day and a half.

The boards we have used are Duraclad 250mm Cedar boards - these are a timber/plastic composite. Really easy to work with, we like the wider boards which also mean fitting is quicker. Cutting is with a jigsaw or a circular saw. The boards are pre drilled at 600mm centres to match up with the battens. The spec says after 3 months, the colour will remain constant for it's expected life. It won't fade and needs no maintenance other than maybe occasional pressure wash.
