Work continues...!
It's been two months since the last post - but work has continued.
The main activities have been:
- Cladding all elevations
- Fitting coping stones
- Starting to fit the gutter system
- Installing the final floor upstairs
- Internal insulation on the upper floor
- The drainage and sewage scheme
The cladding has progressed well - but is a time consuming activity. The preparation takes the most time - once we've set the levels across the elevation and cut all the lengths and any additional holes it all goes on pretty quickly.
We still have a lot of coping stones to fit - a heavy job that needs both of us to lift them,
Upstairs is starting to take shape.
The groundworks has been ongoing for a month and been pretty tricky by all accounts, mainly due to the very awkward site (all being on a slope) and a fairly complex drainage system.
Every week that passes, we achieve a little bit more. By the time we get sick of something, we have just about finished it and ready to move onto something else. By the time we finished it, we are experts and want to start again to improve on our technique!
We are hoping to have the externals complete for Christmas, then we will move onto the internal fit out over winter and into next year.
