We have power, we have water, we have floor beams!
Well, things are continuing to move along.
Electricity
Despite a small hiccup, the electrical supply was put in to plan and as of today, we have a metered supply.
When the contractors came to dig a trench in the field and drop in a cable, they dug the trench to the wrong point, taking it to a pole instead of an underground cable. A worried email, and a 0830 response from SP Energy sorted it, the trench was extended, cable dropped in and the connection made live. The nice man from Scottish Hydro appeared bang on time on Friday and installed the meter. What a change from Scottish Water!
Water
We got water by default, not by any real co-ordination by SW. I called to find out if the track had been signed off, to be told they'd get back to me - and didn't. I then emailed and the response the next day was that yes, it was signed off and I should have water now too as a team were in the area! So,we have water!
Floor Beams
The floor beams arrived slightly early. I was in bed with man flu when I got a call asking where to put them beams. 20mins later we were on site, helping sling the beams into place.
We have appointed a contractor to install the beams, along with the steel frame. Once the beams are in, we will install the floor insulation and first course of the Polarwall, then start building the walls in earnest. We will also need to screed the floor...so a lot to be doing.
